Started using the new tech note at
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27023933
Have installed and configured an agent with separate queue managers ...
(using abbrevs for qmgr names)
qmgr CRD is coordination, qmgr AGT is agent+command. All is well, agent started.
Now we'd like to create a new agent in a remote host where MQFTE is configured to use the same queue manager for all three agent, coord, and command roles. So for the followig sample command in the remote MQFTE server:
fteCreateAgent -agentName AGENT3 -agentQMgr AGT
-agentQMgrHost myhost.ibm.com -agentQMgrPort 1415 -agentQMgrChannel CHANNEL1 -p [what to do for CRD qmgr???]
Looked at InfoCenter but could not figure it out. Do you just use the name of the remote qmgr (in this case CRD) - and hope it will find the matching channel via the xmitq defined with the same name (CRD) ?
Also, will creating this agent overlay any of the other agents? (I saw InfoCenter - so I won't be using -f to force an overlay, but don't want to break the other existing agent).
Thanks. |

I expect that you will need to have default communications path between the agent qmgr and the coordination qmgr. As such specifying the name of the coordination qmgr should be enough. _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

First of all there can only be ONE coordination QM in your "WMQ FTE Network"
For each new install of an agent, you have to name that same coordination QM. The command and agent QM's can be different.
Second:
Use fteSetupCoordination to define the cordination QM for htat installation
Use fteSetupCommands to define the command QM for that installation
THEN and only then use fteCreateAgent to define the agent for that installation.
2 simple rulse of thumb here:
1. Only one Coordination QM per environment
2. Have the agent QM act as the command QM (i.e. both properties files should contain the same QM information) |

Also,
the -p parameter is not involved in normal Agent configurations. It s only used when you need to direct output to a different coordination QM.
Parm syntax: -p CoordQMName
This is typically used where multiple agents are installed on the same box but each supports a different environment. i.e. A test Agent and a QA agent. |
