| MQ has a dependency on dbus-daemon ? |

On Red Hat Linux, we installed MQ V7.0.1.3.
We are being asked if the service "message-bus", which includes the dbus-daemon which is usually considered an unauthorized service could be be turned off ? OR does MQ require this service ?
I am unfamiliar with dbus-daemon or what it does.
I have not found any information in the Infocenter for MQV7 so was just wondering if anyone knew the answer ?

The dbus-daemon PIDs in the status output are owned by mqm

If you need an answer you can trust, open a PMR.
AFAIK, this service has nothing to do with MQ. |

Okay, thanks will try opening a PMR.
Was just a bit bewildered by output showing owned by MQ. |

Have you checked at what else is being run by user mqm?
User/group mqm may be running other things and not just WMQ...
Hint: look for triggered tasks where the trigger monitor runs as mqm...or service...

| These processes all have a parent PID of 1. Almost certainly they were not started by a MQ queue manager. |
