The initial state of the WebSphere MQ Explorer 7.1 queue manager All set expansion icon has changed from collapsed to expanded. The square icon to the left of "All [all set]" contains a - (minus sign) within the box instead of a + (plus sign,) so all queue managers are displayed. The initial states of WebSphere MQ Explorer 7.1 queue manager manual set expansion icons are collapsed, same as in WebSphere MQ Explorer 7.0.

A common use of queue manager sets is to partition queue manager environments (development, production, quality assurance, disaster recovery, etc.) into separate navigation trees.

I asked IBM about the change and they answered as follows:

Quote:
*Start Change Team Update*
The behaviour in question is provided by the underlying Eclipse platform
APIs. In MQ Explorer 7.1, a newer version of the Eclipse platform is
utilised and MQ Explorer makes use of the available functionality for
handling user interfaces as per the Eclipse guidelines.

Thus, this change in behaviour from 7.0.x to 7.1 is not directly the
result of a change within MQ Explorer, but a consequence of the newer
Eclipse platform.
If the customer feels that the previous behaviour is something they
would like in the product, then please assist them in raising a
requirement.

*END Change Team Update*

Uhm.

It does appear to remember the state of each set when you restart.

Nope.

The initial expansion state of the All queue manager set in WebSphere MQ Explorer 7.1 is always expanded and the initial expansion states of manual queue manager sets are always collapsed. IBM has confirmed.

Just upgraded to WebSphere MQ 7.5. The All queue manager set is also expanded whenever WebSphere MQ 7.5 Explorer comes up.

And you were suggested that if you wanted this behavior to change, you should open a requirement...

It's worth opening another PMR and pretending the previous one doesn't exist.
