I have MQ Explorer on my workstation. I am connected to a QMGR that is a PR in a repository. If I click on the Queues folder, it lists all of the queues for that QMGR.
However, when I go to another developer's workstation, whom is also connected to that PR that has a shared cluster queue... that developer's Explorer does not show a particular queue. I haven't gone through and checked every queue, but it looks like most all of them are there... just not this one particular one. His workstation, however, does show it if you look at the PR in the "Clusters" menus.
He can send messages to the queue just fine, but it doesn't display when connected to it... so he cannot do administrative functions to the queue. |

Why is a developer administering queues?
Be specific - is that queue actually a local queue on that PR queue manager that's shared in the cluster, or is it shared from 1 - n other members of the cluster?
You say he can send messages; can he read them? Can he get messages from that instance of the queue on that queue manager? Using an app or a support pac?
Is he using the same connection and security credentials as you? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

By administering, he's basically just browsing the messages to see if his application is putting messages on the queue.
That queue is a local queue on the PR that is shared in the cluster.
Not sure if he can get, I'll have to check
Security and credentials... probably not. But this is a DEV cluster, there really isn't any security or credentials to authenticate on. (As opposed to our QA and Prod clusters).
I'll check into those questions. |

That's a slightly different definition to "administration" than mine.

Not being able to get will effectively eliminate his ability to browse.

So to hammer the point home if you go onto the hosting box, use runmqsc to connect to the queue manager and ask it about that queue it describes it as a QLOCAL?

And yet, unless you've deliberately eliminated the OAM, the queue manager will still be checking them. Because it doesn't know it's in DEV. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
