How do you manage log files on a backup qmgr? How do you know which log files can be deleted?
According to the documentation DIS QMSTATUS CURRLOG will tell you which log extent the system is writing too, DIS QMSTATUS RECLOG will tell you what is the oldest file needed from system recover and DIS QMSTATUS MEDIA log will tell you what is the oldest file needed for media recover. Anything older than the REC log can be archived, anything older than the MEDIA log and the REC log can be deleted.
However, these commands cannot be run on a backup queue manager as it is not active. As I can tell, the only way to tell on the backup system is to parse the AMQERR0X.LOG file to see what the oldest files I need are. |
