Having got almost all the way to the end of Friday the 13th without anything weird happening....
...my almost has run out!
A discussion here regarding files & their handling has brought up the use of the Stirling Connect:Direct product, widely used here for reasons not relevant to this post. For political reasons we get 1 Connect:Direct server and all the integration software pulls & pushes files.
We're sitting there discussing the pros & cons of ftp when some bright spark pipes up "Why not use the Connect:Direct nodes in WMB directly?". All eyes turn to me, I do a quick rabbit-in-headlights impersonation & some digging round.
I discover that Mr Spark is quite right. There are C : D nodes for input and output in the File Palette of both his and my Toolkit but there's not a word about them in the InfoCenter. There is however pages of information in the WMBv8 InfoCenter.
So have these nodes escaped from v8 and are hiding in v7 until the heat's off? Are they supported? Can we rely on the v8 documentation to configure them? Do I need to call it a day because there's no such things in v7 and my medication's worn off? Has anybody used them in v7?
Any information welcomed, including the information I'm further off the deep end than normal. Obviously much of this information could be obtained via a PMR but where's the fun in that?

It's an excellent excuse to upgrade to v8.

If you want the CD nodes on V7, you can raise a PMR and request APAR IC75621.
Of course, move to V8 if you can - it's way better |

I dream of this. I add this to the reasons this site has for moving to v8 & see if the balance can be tipped.
I thank you for the APAR number. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
