All:
I have released the next beta v0.3.7 of MQ Visual Edit.
The following enhancements / fixes have been made:
- Added code to support "Clear Queue" functionality.
- Enhanced the Open Queue Dialog panel to add a drop-down box for the queue name field. Now the 10 previously inputted queue names will be saved.
- Updated docs (English only)
You can download MQ Visual Edit at:

Note: This is an on-going project, so please send comments and / or complaints to me.
Also, this beta will last for 11 weeks (end of January) because of Christmas.

I received RC 2059 when trying to connect to a mainframe QM. Description of 2059 from the MQ manual:
"On OS/390, this reason code can also occur if the
optional MVS/ESA client attachment feature has not
been installed."
We are using QPasa for MQ monitoring and can connect to the host QM without problem.
Am I missing something here ?

Hi,
Montoring tools like QPasa generally have an "agent" running locally to the queue manager they are monitoring. Therefore, they do not connect remotely. Note: I have not used QPasa.
If you do not have CAF installed on OS/390 then there is absolutely no way a client MQ program can connect to an OS/390 queue manager.
An easy way to verify if you have CAF installed is to look in the ****CHIN (or was it ****MSTR - I can't remember) started-task for:
CSQX099I -**** CSQXGIP Client attachment feature available
Note: Replace the above "****" with the OS/390 queue manager name.
If you do have CAF installed then double, triple check the IP# / hostname, SVRCONN name & the port#. Don't forget, each queue manager in the same LPAR will use a different port# (i.e. 1414, 1415, 1416...)
