My commands to start a queue simply hangs
I checked the AMQ log for errors, but there are no messages written to thiese logs today (the last message was yesterday)
I checked as follows:
Code: |
ps -ef | grep mqm
root 6610 6585 0 10:11 pts/1 00:00:00 su - mqm
mqm 6611 6610 0 10:11 pts/1 00:00:00 -bash
mqm 6720 6611 0 10:20 pts/1 00:00:00 strmqm BBB
root 6765 6727 0 10:23 pts/0 00:00:00 grep mqm |
What should I do next to determine the problem ? |

Check the syslog.
Why do you need to start the queue manager? Is it new, or an existing queue manager? If the latter did it close normally? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Try this control command: dspmq ; then post the results here. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

strmqm tries to start other processes like amqzxma0. It has evidently failed to do that, which is very strange. My guess would be a locked file (are your files on NFS? what version of NFS?) or problem with semaphores. Did you check in /var/mqm/errors for any .FDC files?
IBM have a suggested way to dump state for "hang" symptoms if you were to need to open a a PMR .. go to this page http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21293105 which I found via the main "MustGather: Read first for WebSphere MQ" page
