XML to MRM: Which is best option?
All,
For XML to MRM conversion, I am hearing two approaches:
Option A: Create Message set with XML and CWF layers
Define DTD.
Import DTD to message set.
In Compute node, copy entire message. Mention the message format as 'CWF'
Option B: Create Message set with CWF layer
Create Cobol copybook
Import cobol copybook
In compute node write a big ESQL to copy fields from XML to CWF
Now, I want to know which of the above options are good, if my incoming XML message has some repeating elements?
What are pros and cons of both the approaches?
Please reply.
Regards,
Radha |

Radha,
XML to CWF using MRM works very well only if both the structures are identical, but you couldn't use this solution to transform XML to CWF if the structures are different. For example, an XML element repeats 5 times but in a COBOL structure you have to sum them and send them as a single value. For such transformations you will have to write ESQL code to do mapping. _________________ Kiran
