Hi,

On our experimental server, the existing queue manager will not start. I can also no longer create a queue manager without any errors. The server was recycled but this did not result in any improvements.

Linux - MQ 7.1.0.0

In creating a new queue manager with crtmqm the following list of errors occurs:
AMQ6125: An internal WebSphere MQ error has occurred.
AMQ6184: An internal WebSphere MQ error has occurred on queue manager
AMQ6109: An internal WebSphere MQ error has occurred.
AMQ6110: An internal WebSphere MQ error has occurred.
AMQ5008: An essential WebSphere MQ process 13684 (amqzfuma) cannot be found and
AMQ6183: An internal WebSphere MQ error has occurred.

The server team has suggested an un-install/re-install but it would be best to try to understand what has happened... They also said they did not change anything on the box.

What do I need to look into?

Thanks

Have you got a lot of time to spend on this?

Try uninstall/reinstall at least once. If the problem persists, you can say it's probably not a bad install that caused it. If the problem goes away, then you can say it probably IS a bad install that caused it.

Are you remembering that the MQ 7.1 commands are no longer symlinked from /usr/bin, unless you run a special command first? And that for new systems, it might (??) be better to get used to setting up your own path (setmqenv I think) rather than rely on /usr/bin?

Just some things to think about..

Thank you all for your replies.

Here is some info from trying to create a test queue manager. I have searched on the web for a resolution, but have not found one yet. Last week there were no problems with the installation (MQ 7.1 server on Linux). Thanks for your help.

mqm@ede901:/var/mqm/errors> crtmqm QMGR.TEST9
WebSphere MQ queue manager created.
Directory '/var/mqm/qmgrs/QMGR!TEST9' created.
The queue manager is associated with installation 'Installation1'.
Creating or replacing default objects for queue manager 'QMGR.TEST9'.
Default objects statistics : 0 created. 0 replaced. 74 failed.
For details of the failures that occurred, please check AMQERR01.LOG.
Completing setup.

interestng that group "1030" shows up in the ls -l, but not a real group name. So that suggests a bad install - the mqm group hasn;t been created properly or associated with the mqm id.
