Guys,
I installed MQ 7.1 Trial on my Win 7 Enterprise but I couldn't start the Prepare WebSphere MQ Wizard.
The following message was shown.
Code:
WebSphere MQ is not correctly configured for Windows domain users
An unexpected error has occurred while validating the security credentials of user 'XXX'.
Ensure that the network is operational, and that all required domain controllers are available.
My user account is in administrator group and in mqm group. And mqm group has "List Folder" authority on each subdirectory in the path to the service amqsvc.exe.
The same problem happened on Windows 2008 R2 Standard.
For a domain account, being in the administrators' group is not enough.
The account needs the authority to check/validate other accounts and retrieve their group membership. This is something you need to have done at the Active Directory level on the domain server...
For 7.1 there is also a potential issue if you are running under a domain userid when doing the prepare wizard part in order to configure MQ to run under another id. This can be worked around by either doing that part under a local id, or configuring the MQ Service's userid manually (Service is MQ_InstallationName) then running the prepare wizard.
Is your machine in an active directory domain? Bear in mind a local userid *(MUSR_MQADMIN) cannot query the group memberships of domain userids without special privileges, hence you may need to configure it to run under a domain id with special user rights at the domain controller - see the docs.
