Change the DSN name?

So suppose I have a database, A.
I have created in my odbc.ini file, a section that I have named DSNA, to indicate that it is a DSN that goes to database, A.
Now, the question appears to be, how do I create another DSN that then points to databaseA, which has a different name than DSNA.
The answer is - I create another section in my odbc.ini file named DSNA1, or DSNB or DAVE (if I feel like it, except Dave's not here man).
And then in that new section, called DSNB, I put the same information as in the first section DNSA.
If this is not completely obvious from the face of it, then please spend more time considering the implications of the configuration steps you have already taken. Until you understand the function that the configuration you have made performs, you can not properly claim to know what you are doing. |
