I have WMB isntalled on AIX
It runs well for about 5 minutes, then it slows down and does not operate
The machine actually slows down and will not respond to root commands promptly, takes a while to get a simple ls or hostname
I get the following from topas
Code: |
Name PID CPU% PgSp Owner PageIn 0 PAGING SPACE
DataFlow 5963830 0.6 96.0M mqm PageOut 1333 Size,MB 1024
DataFlow 6226164 0.6 95.3M mqm Sios 1490 % Used 3
DataFlow 6619272 0.6 96.2M mqm % Free 97
DataFlow 7602392 0.6 97.3M mqm NFS (calls/sec)
DataFlow 4915582 0.6 95.9M mqm SerV2 0 WPAR Activ 0
DataFlow 6684770 0.6 96.4M mqm CliV2 0 WPAR Total 0
DataFlow 6488218 0.6 96.1M mqm SerV3 0 Press: "h"-help
DataFlow 6357178 0.6 96.5M mqm |
How can I investigate this to determine the problem |

AIX version?
WMQ version?
WMB version?
Could it be that you have not enough memory on the server? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Did it work without problem before? Did you change something? How many EG's and flows? Error logs? MQ? Persistent messages? Space? Many messages? |

We've talked alot about service Id here. I would venture you are not running on a service Id that has mqbrkrs as it's primary group and that when you execute broker commands you do not sudo into that service Id.
I'll buy you a case of beer if I am wrong. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

I'd being willing to put up a case of cheap domestic beer and take your bet, lancelotlinc.
Wouldn't a problem caused by running with an incorrect ID being immediate and consistent, and not a gradual slow down? _________________ Peter Potkay

Not in this instance. He's trying to use mqm Id which primary group membership is mqm not mqbrkrs. We've been trying to get the IBM doc changed for a couple of years now. Ask smdavies about it. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

We run broker 7 on AIX as user "mqm" (NOT my choice I can assure you!) and don't find any problems. |
