Can we estimate the broker startup time in function of the number of flows that are deployed ? Is there any average startup time available depending of different SW platforms ? Any information related to this topics could help.
Thanks.

Broker startup is one of those great imponderables.
I know of a system that can take more then 30 minutes to startup properly.
At the moment, it is a free for all. All the EG's get kicked off at the same time. Thus they fight for resources and CPU time to get going. IF they don't get started before they timeout, they get killed and start all over again.
I'd really like to be able to control the order etc of EG startup so that it is phased with the most critical bits starting first.
Perhaps this has improved with V8 but I'm not in a situation yet where I can test this. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.

I agree here. Thats why you don't stop/restart EGs unless undergoing maintenance with appropriate notifications to your upstream users. Two hour or four hour maintenance windows are common, once per week. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks
