when svrconn channel is manually stopped and then when application connects to mq through svrconn channel, that channel becomes active/running again.
is there any way to permanently stop svrconn channel?
dont want svrconn channel become active/running with application using it after I stop it manually
mq 6.0.2.4 on solaris 10

If the channel is stopped, it's stopped. Nothing will be able to use it until you change it from stop(stopped) to stop(inactive). _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Beware: if you bounce the qmgr the channel will come up in inactive state and you will have customers accessing it.
If you need to bounce the qmgr, set the listener to manual before bouncing, when the qmgr is back up stop the channel, start the listener, set the listener control back to qmgr.
Have fun _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Every day a school day! I've just learned yet another 'attribute' of WMQ of which I was not aware - thank you! _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Huh. A sender or receiver will come back up in stopped state, presumably because its status is saved by the queue manager? But not so for a svrconn? Methinks that's a bad idea, Big Blue! |
