Hello,

We have 2 QMGRs working as gateways to our cluster, and our app works in a fire-and-forget pattern, thus we would love to auto-reconnect to another gateway QMGR if any fails instead of using a MI-QMGR.

But is it possible to do so? And how? Any java sample code or doc there? I've searched through red books and info centers, and has not acquired much so far.

Using a CCDT will help you do this. MQCONNX is also helpful. However you have not said what platform and API (MQI/JMS) the client app uses.

Of course you can simply store the relevant QMGR names in an ini file and connect to them in your program using whatever logic you wish.

You could try one of them (chosen at random) until the connection works, or if it does not work - wait 15 seconds and try again.
