Hi All,
I knw this is not new topic in this forum, but actually i m facing this issue and not sure how to solve it. My broker service is running and when i m using mqsistart BROKER command , it is showing This component is running. Execution group and deployed flows under that broker are running , but broker is not running.
Please help me to fix this issue.
Thanks a ton in advance. |

How are you determining that this is the case? (i.e. it is not running)
What platform?
What version of Broker? What patch level? _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Hi davies thanks for replying.
I m using Broker V6.1 with path upto 9.
In my broker explorer it is giving alert as BROKER is not running. So i think it suggests broker is not running.
Please suggest me how can i start it.
I mtrying to use ORACLE as database. I created systemDSN in oracle. Then i gave datasource for broker as i created them in Oracle. But broker is not starting. Plz |

Do the System event logs show any problems starting the Broker? _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Do your deployed flows work?
If this is the case then the issue is that the displayed status information is incorrect rather than the broker not running. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

to conclude, the broker is running but you can't use the debugger?
Therefore, on a different track.
Did you change the debug port on the Execution Group?
etc etc etc _________________ WMQ User since 1999

That doesn't mean the broker or the EG isn't running. It means the debuuger can't communicate with it.
Take a user trace. Not only will you see the flow running, you'll see all sorts of useful diagnostic information about whatever you're trying to debug. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

but on the message broker it is giving alert as : BROKER IS NOT RUNNING. I m not able to use DEBUGGER bcz broker is not running in message broker. But its service is running in windows services. So changing debug port for Execution Group will not solve the issue. I also tested by changing the debug port. |

That could just mean the explorer can't connect to the broker any more than the debugger can. What does an mqsilist show you?
You've not answered the question about platform, but mention SystemEventLogs. This implies Windows, so your next action should be to reboot the server and see if that helps.
Seriously. Something sounds hung up. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Hi VITOR thanks for ur reply.
mqsilist shows the list of broker and configmanager available which shows my current BROKER.
I rebooted the server but it still didn't help. I faced the same issue after restarting the server. So plz suggest me how to proceed further. |

If mqsilist shows the broker as running, but explorer & debugger can't attach to it this points to a communication configuration problem. Make sure there's nothing network blocking you. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I m not sure abt network blocking as i m working on local server. Actually i was working on db2 database , everything was fine , but then i switched to oracle database , after changing it i changed my datasource to oracle dsn , then i changed broker properties for new datasource. But after doing this i faced current issue.
So plz suggest me how to overcome. |
