Check the flow engine is not attached to another debug session (either one of yours that's crashed or an associate's)
Check the port the flow engine is listening on and this is the port you're using
Check the broker has not abended
Check that the time out interval is set correctly

It would have helped if you'd mentioned how much (if any) of that you'd already tried, and if you've previously been able to successfully debug on this machine.

You might also want to explain why you're using the debugger in preference to user trace in the first place.

Ask if anyone else is using the debugger?

Think back & try to remember if you had a debugger session that crashed?

Determine if something is connected to the debugger port when you're not?

Other methods are undoubtably available.

is there any other way than asking around. i followed these steps..

created the port for the eg , and then created a new session for debug and added the port number of eg and added the source folders and getting the same error.

You don't mention restarting the EG.

IMHO it's unlikely to be someone else connected to the port if you've only just defined it. Indicating it's a problem with the broker / EG configuration rather than the port being in use.

If everything is fixed how come you're getting an error?

You might want to to consider posting the highlights of your error for the benefit of those of us behind paranoid corporate proxy servers who can't get to image sites.

You might also want to consider taking a user trace rather than using the debugger. More informative and less fiddly.

No, oddly my browser can't access that site if you embed the picture any more than I can access it by typing the URL....

Unless of course the error you're getting really is a little red x in a small box, in which case I'm not sure what makes the debugger do that.

At last! Another convert to the 'pouring over listings' Grumpy Old Men Brigade.

You know that once you have come over from the 'Dark side', you can't go back. The debugger is now off limits. te-he

We have already won. It's just that everyone else has not yet admitted our victory.

That's because you can't see the door. Must get that light fixed.
