Given a jms message read off of a queue used for pub/sub, is there a way to determine which subscriber the message is intended for?

I know that the messages are only delivered to the appropriate subscriber, but, I have a case where acknowledgement of a message is done in batches, and the client simply provides the id of the last message that should be acknowledged. In theory then, when the last message is acknowledged all previous unacknowledged messages should also be acknowledged.

Before they can acknowledge a message however, I want to ensure it's actually intended for them by getting it from the queue, verifying that they are the intended recipient, and then acknowledging for them.

I know this probably seems confusing, however, we are providing pub/sub type function via webservices. This unique element has us doing things on behalf of the subscriber who isn't talking jms, but SOAP/HTTP for example.

So, given that little bit of history, maybe someone can fill me in on how I know which subscriber is supposed to get the published message.
