We have a requirement to grow the physical queue file on HP NonStop so that the queue can take in larger amounts of messages
This would be the procedure to alter the physical queue file attributes to grow to a larger size if the QM is running
altmqfls --qmgr QM1 --type QLOCAL --qsize \(500,100,500,50,100,500\) TESTQ1
Is there an alternative to doing this without having the QM up and running.
This is to effect changes on a standby server where the QM cannot be started.
Thanks in advance. |

Can't say I do understand the requirement here. Allocate the max possible used at file system level and let MQ handle the dynamic space allocation.
Changing dynamically would then be done through runmqsc right? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Handling of queue filesize on NonStop and *nix-es systems differ.
The file extent to be allocated needs to be configured on a per queue basis. |

Doesn't the same principle apply, only at a per queue basis instead of global?

And of course, leave some "wiggle" room and monitor.
Don't know about NonStop, but I would have thought that disk space is still cheaper than having an outage. _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
