Hi,

I have an issue with the MB toolkit.

My toolkit is installed in the local windows 7 machine using the windows username. This machine is provided by my company.

The brokers we are connecting to are installed in the client AIX machines. They have opened the port for us to connect to the brokers. But they have given client network id/password and have given access to brokers using the client usernames.

The problem is when i try to connect to the brokers from my toolkit, it is trying to connect to the brokers using the windows username and password and fails.

I tried to start the toolkit using run as command. But in windows 7, they have removed that option and have given a command prompt command. When i tried that, it tries but neither gives error not it starts the toolkit.

Could anyone please let me know if there is any way i can change the username or have to reinstall the toolkit using the client username after creating it in localmachine ?

Don't use that.

Upgrade to 7.0.0.2 at least, and 7.0.0.3 by preference.

If they are telling you to use 7.0.0.1 Toolkit because their Broker is at 7.0.0.1, tell them to upgrade their brokers.

You need to log into the local machine as the network user, and then run the Toolkit.

You can still do "run as" on Windows 7, using different mechanisms, but you need to have administrative privileges to do it, afaik, and they probably don't want you having administrative privileges.

You need to put this problem in front of your companys administrators - the broker admins first and foremost.

I can login as the network user to my local machine and start toolkit. But i will lose my company domain related stuff..like mails etc i guess. I will try that option.

I do have admin acess for the local machine...it would be a great help if you could tell me to start toolkit using the run as command in any other way.

Is there a chance where i can edit this username ?

Yes you can use an ssl channel with mcauser set on it.
If you need to run ssl fips, open a PMR. IBM has a fix for ssl fips
