Hi all,

I am new to this MQ broker explorer and I am having problems with connecting to a remote broker. I have created a channel to connect to the Queue Manager from Webshpere MQ Explorer named QEXPLORER.CHANNEL and it connects well. The problem is with the Broker explorer.

When I connect to a remote broker with the broker explorer, I use the same channel (QEXPLORER.CHANNEL) to connect to a remote broker from the broker explorer and it does not connect at all. It does not bring any errors, just the "trying to connect" screen appears and then it dissappears as if it did connected but nothing happens.

Do I need to create another channel to connect the broker explorer?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you

Yes, I followed it. The listener was created when I first made the connection with the Queue Manager.

I used the correct host IP, Q Manager Name and Port and for the SVRCONN Channel Name, I used the same channel name the Queue Manager uses.

What version toolkit? What version runtime. What effective runtime level of your runtime? What platform does the runtime use (ie. what os)?

Toolkit V 7.0; Websphere MQ Explorer V 7.0.

The broker is running in Unix and I am connecting to it from Windows with the Broker Explorer.

I hope this info helps.

Thank you

You didnt answer my questions.

What version of toolkit? Should be something like

Quote:
Version: 7.0.0.2
Build id: 7.0.0.2-IFix-20110310_1127

What version of runtime?

Should be something like

Quote:
7.0.0.2

What is the effective level of your runtime? This may be different than the installed version.

Use telnet or putty and log into your Unix server. Execute mqsilist, and paste the result here. Please use [c o d e] tags.

There are many flavors of Unix. Which one are you using? What version is it?

Toolkit:

Version: 7.0.0
Build id: 7.0.0-20091028_2100

Runtime: 7.0.1.1

In Unix, the broker version is 7.0 and when I run mqsilist this is what I get:

[ld.so.1: mqsilist: fatal: libImbCmdLib.so: open failed: No such file or directory
Killed]

You don't need a separate channel for Broker Explorer than MQ Explorer.

You may need additional security configurations for the user trying to connect to Broker, however.

You are almost certainly getting that error trying to run mqsilist because you did not apply the mqsi profile.

Will you be developing flows, or just administering Broker components?

You need to update your toolkit and your runtime before you do anything else.
