This question is specific to WMB. We are currently on WMB 6.1 and wanted to know how migrating this to WMB7 (or later versions if any) would benefit our client. Is there a checklist that you refer based on the services your client has? |

Doing the evaluation based on the existing inventory is doing a disservice to your client. You should be doing the evaluation based on known and expected future inventory.

Upgrade to the latest package of the product and before actually proposing the upgrade to the client/management, have a look at the newer version and its 'read me'/APAR to know what bug has been fixed in the older versions Or what new features is/are being added to the newer versions.
And if the newer version solves the problem/limitations that you are facing now with the existing version on the product, do update it.
and How to migrate, that's mentioned in the respective infocenter of MB. _________________ *Life will beat you down, you need to decide to fight back or leave it. |

Review the "What's new in Version 7.0?" section of the WMB 7 InfoCenter. See what applies to your shop.
Even if none of them interest you, performance is typically better in a newer version, and by moving to version 7 now you avoid scrambling to upgrade off of 6.1 once IBM announces end of support, although IBM does give you at least a year's notice. _________________ Peter Potkay
