Hi All,

I have created a message flow in which i have to send a *.csv.gz file and have to ftp it to 2 different locations.

I pick up that file from a Location, but it is not even parsing the file, it directly send the file to Backout folder. No transaction acctually happens. Upon running trace i found out of this error.

BIP3322E: File node ''FTPFileInput'' in message flow ''OpowerFileFTPUploadService'' encountered an I/O exception ''Name/opt/home/amiapp/opower/intervalusage/outbound/opwr_cec_interval30_20110813_125952.csv.gz.filepart does not identify an existing R/W file'' on file ''/opt/home/amiapp/opower/intervalusage/outbound/opwr_cec_interval30_20110813_125952.csv.gz.filepart''.
The file node failed to open the file because of an exception received from the file system. The exception description indicates the nature of the exception raised.
Ensure that the input directory and the file have the correct file permissions and security settings to permit the broker to read from and write to the file. See the WebSphere Message Brokers online documentation sections "FileInput node" and "FileOutput node" for more information.

The sudo rights are provided to this .gz file prior to the flow is started. If we provide the .gz file with rights alone it responds in the error message above, but if we provide the .csv file with sudo rights and then gun zip it and execute the file it works fine.

Do we always have to follow this process or is there any better way to pick up this file without giving sudo rights to the sub (.csv) file ??

The 'filepart' tells me that the fileInputNode was trying to read a file that was partially written.

The solution is

1) Create the csv.gz in another adjacent directory
2) 'mv' the completed file to the directory where the FileInputNode can pick it up cleanly.

This has been discussed here not that long ago.

It tells me that the FileInput is configured badly, or broken.

Either the fileInput node is configured to read all files in the directory, which is the wrong thing, or it is failing to properly ignore files that don't end with .csv.gz - in which case it's broken.

So if the FileInput node is configured to read "*" from the input directory, change it.

Otherwise open a PMR.
