Hi,
jus a basic doubt, assume we have a HA setup with two strands of MQ supported layers.
Now we need to expose a single queue name to the end system thru which all the requests will come in.
For this we would need to give connection details like QMname, IP and port. Here if we specify the IP name then it means the end sys will first interact with a single QM and only after that the load balancing may occur.
But how can this be modified, so that based on the availability of the two queue managers (in HA Clusters), the incoming message is dropped.
(Note:This is a HA scenario, ie., active-active scenario)
Secondly, how the same prob can be solved if we opt for active-passive scenario that is using the multi-instance concept in MQv7 where the logs and QM data are stored in a SAN storage referred by two servers with MQ installation.
Thanks, |

If this is an HA scenario then the IP name should be under the control of the HA software. This is basic, basic, basic functionality of HA software.
Also you mention "load balancing", indicating you have an MQ cluster in there somewhere. These are 2 separate and distinct things confusingly both called "clusters". First work out how to obtain load balancing in the MQ cluster, then work out how to get the participating queue managers working in an HA cluster.

By using the multi-IP connection facility introducted in v7 to support this. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
