Do you have any relevant MQ training, preparation or other prior knowledge?
Or is this a "trying to run before walking" situation? |

I require to create the 2 qm's,one must be active and other must be passive to overcome workload. |

The very comprehensive manuals tell you how, i.e. the command to run.

Overcome workload? If you mean you want to split (load-balance) then you need two active queue managers. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Could be HA, could be MI, could be several things. Useful to know something about the subject before asking for help. |

As i said, for load balance i need to create 2 qm's/one active one passive.
*if one qm goes down, then the passive qm must start running. |

I repeat: active/passive is not load balancing.
As zpat has stated you need to refine your requirement to enable more appropriate advice, but at first glance I would say you need a single, highly-available queue manager. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

The 'how to' is all there in the manuals. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Does the IP address have to remain the same after failover - if it does then MI won't do the job (unless DNS redirection is sufficient).
HA depends on platform - which is it? |

Why? If all your other connecting infrastructure at V7.0.1 you can use MI, otherwise it's a different flavour of HA you need. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

That does not answer my question as to why the IP Address has to remain the same after fail-over, so, again, why? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
