Hello people,

I recently installed on new computer Eclipse and MQ V7 (W2008, 64bit , 20GB ram, 4CPU)
(Eclipse 331,Explorer 7015).

I tried follow informations on this link " http://www.scribd.com/doc/48476162/Websphere-MQ-7-Installation"

Except of installation directory, because we are using another directory for production which is on driver D:

This server is fully new, except of few things. Let me explain:
QM was running on old machine, custommer has removed this machine from production and deleted it. After he had chosen new machine he simply copied everything from directory IBM(all files from old machine to new).

After instalation I'm not able to start MQ, please check this picture for details:

I fear, that it won't start, because i did contact admin thing. I choosed directory where already were all old files from old machine where was MQ6 installed.

In error logs in "IBM\Eclipse\eclipse\configuration" I can see following error:

!STACK 0
org.osgi.framework.BundleException: Cannot attach fragment bundle "org.eclipse.update.configurator.nl2" to resolved host "org.eclipse.update.configurator". Try refreshing the host bundle.
at org.eclipse.osgi.framework.internal.core.BundleHost.attachFragment(BundleHost.java:575)
at org.eclipse.osgi.framework.internal.core.BundleFragment.addHost(BundleFragment.java:298)
at org.eclipse.osgi.framework.internal.core.PackageAdminImpl.setResolved(PackageAdminImpl.java:332)
at org.eclipse.osgi.framework.internal.core.PackageAdminImpl.applyDeltas(PackageAdminImpl.java:347)
at org.eclipse.osgi.framework.internal.core.PackageAdminImpl.processDelta(PackageAdminImpl.java:424)
at org.eclipse.osgi.framework.internal.core.PackageAdminImpl.doResolveBundles(PackageAdminImpl.java:221)
at org.eclipse.osgi.framework.internal.core.PackageAdminImpl$1.run(PackageAdminImpl.java:164)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:811)

Now i don't know, what should i do.
Uninstall MQ7 and remove all old files, after try to install it again? Or is it problem in something else.

Please

That's not a problem. The problem is that by simply copying everything from the IBM directory the customer has failed to copy all the registry entries associated with the installation; a fairly basic error you'd expect anyone at all familiar with Windows not to make. Also if it's a default WMQv6 install but with the drive letter changed from C to D there should not have been a single IBM directory.

Either way, it's not a valid method to move most Windows software from one machine to another. Try installing Office by copying a directory and see what happens.....

Providing you clean out all the intermediate registry and temporary files. If it was me, I'd do a system restore to a point prior to the WMQv7 install, scratch out all the files that were copied from the old machine and do a clean WMQv7 install.

Hi,

Thanks for reply, yea. you are right. Anyway i thought that new instalation of Webshere will erase all old IBM files and just left old QM settings intact. And because i used traditional setup file to install new Websphere, I expected that installer writes all to the registry. Something like repair option. That was only my wish to be able start old QM again.
