Hello
In multi instance queue manager, is there any way to use one IP address for active and standby queue managers so that
there is no need for client and channel reconnections? |

MQ does not provide any mechanism for doing this.
You can configure a standard virtual IP address and use an MQ Service to control the switch over - in the same way that an MQ service controls the switch over of Message Broker when asked to. |

I repeat.
MQ DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY FUNCTIONS FOR CREATING OR MANAGING VIRTUAL IP ADDRESSES - that is, IP addresses that move between one or more machines.
MQ just uses them. As if they were a "normal" ip address - which, when they are actually applied to a particular machine, they are.
There's no difference as far as MQ is concerned. Or anything else.
You just need a) a mechanism to create and manage virtual IP addresses, b) a command or script or other mechanism to indicate that the address should now be applied to *this* machine rather than some other machine, c) an MQ service to call that script or command or mechanism. |
