Can any of yous lerned and helpful gentlefolks tell me IF and HOW I can deploy MQ Explorer of IBM's in such a way that my users have BROWSE only access to queues ... no clearing queue messages, no defining, altering or deleting MQ Objects ...
any ideas a greatly appreciated.
there's a lovely blog entry that describes exactly how to do this. I'm surprised you didn't find it when you googled for the answer.
But it has nothing to do - or at least almost nothing - with how you deploy MQExplorer.
It's all about how you choose to secure your queue manager.
At the first step, you should put your entire production environment behind a network firewall that blocks it from access by the rest of the company, except for known fixed ports from known fixed machines.
