Hi Experitse,

Firstly I have downloaded the .tar.Z file from IBM site, placed into /tmp directory and extracted there.

Secondly I have found the IBM link CDROM silent Installation in the IBM site, not for extracted files. Here I need you assistance to perform the silent Installation

Finally please step by step method to perform this activity.

What's the difference between the CD ROM image and the downloaded tar?

Why are you installing WMQv6 not WMQv7?

Silent install is descibed in WMQ Solaris Quick Beginnings V6.0 manual. If you are installing MQ, you should study this manual in detail.

The manual is quite clear, especially about editing the response file, and there is a section that details the components that will/can be installed. If you have a sandbox environment, play around with the installation/uninstallation until you get the desired result.

The following steps I have followed as per the mannual.

step 1 : login as root user & ./mqlicense.sh

step2 : pkgadd -d /export/home/mqm(location of my binary files)

step 3 : selected option all ..in which we need all the components (gsk7 , mqm)

though I did I'm getting following error

/tmp/installMkaaqY/checkinstallOkaaqY: /tmp/sh257310: cannot create
pkgadd: ERROR: request script did not complete successfully

Is this /tmp/ permission error? please help me

The steps are there in the manual. Reread my last posting in regard to the response file.

They're in the documentation. You've been told that. If you've followed the guidance for silent install & it's not worked then explain what happened.

You might also want to explain the apparent paradox between your statement "I have successfully installed interactive way" and you then posting what looks to be a question about an interactive install failure.

What are the permissions on /tmp?
ls -ld /tmp

They should allow anyone to create files and directories in there.

I normally give this dir full permissions (chmod 777), as even though pkgadd is run from root, some scripts appear to run from mqm userid.
