Hi,

I'm a newbie about mq and I have a little (big) problem.
I installed a MQ series 7 on Linux environment (RedHat 5 Enterprise Server) and I have to access with a client on Windows.
How can I configure a Windows user to access on Linux MQ?
If I try without configuration I have a error 2035 (Not authorized) javascript:emoticon('') .

Tks
Max

Have the Windows client provide a user that's a member of a properly authorized group on Linux. Methods include, but are not limited to:

- have the application provide the id
- provide the id via MCAUser
- add a matching user on Linux

You'll find the secuirity manual in the InfoCenter useful. You'll also find an entire section in this forum devoted to MQ Security, which I'm moving this thread to.

Tks,

I added the same windows user (with the same password) on group mqm that I use to connect.
Locally on Linux server I haven't any problem.

Where I have to put information on my server?
What do you mean when you say "have the application provide the id"? Is user "id"?

thanks

Moving forward that's not a good practice. It's fine while you're getting it to work, but users generally shouldn't be in the mqm gorup.

The Windows client will be supplying a user id to the queue manager. What id this is depends somewhat on how the application is running and how you've configued things but there are a number of methods. Which one is in use here (and which one is best for your circumstances) I can't say.

Probably your best bet here is to enable security events and see exactly what's generating the 2035. From this you'll be able to determine what id is being supplied by Windows and if you want to change that, or authorise it.

Remember to disable security events once you're done.
