Hi all
I have installed MQSeries v5.2 for os/390. I created a subsystem. It is working fine.
The problem is :
Earlier I was using MQSeries V2.10. I had 2 queue managers in that version. The problem is I am not able to open objects in my older queue manager ( those created with MQ 2.1) using MQ 5.2.
Can any suggest the way to make to the queuemanager in the older version compatible with mq5.2.
Thanks in advance.
Rgds

What's fooling you is the ISPF interface... and the routines it takes from the LINKLIST libraies.
You have to have two logon procedures one allocating the old version systemlibs to STEPLIB: SCSQAUTH and SCSQANLE, and the refer the old version of MQ-ISPF libraries.
I hope it helps you, it worked for me.

But Vin,
Is your problem that you cannot use the ISPF interface on both qmgrs, the one on 5.2 and the one on 2.1 ?

Hi vinodh,
4 months ago I moved from MQ 2.1 to 5.2 (I exchanged also OS/390 2.8 for z/OS 1.2). I haven't had any problems with objects created before the update. Tha panels (version 5.2) show all objects. In fact I have some objects created under MQ 1.2 (old story - I can see them all. _________________ Marcin Grabinski <>< |

Vimodh.
Are you perhaps saying that you have multiple queue managers on one OS390 image which are running different levels of MQ ?
We had that for a short while during which we had 2 versions of the ISPF application running, one for MQ 1.2 and one for MQ 5.2.
Cheers, Jan. |

Oops. I overlooked that....
You don't need the 2 logon procs if you do the allocation after TSO logon. At least I could toggle between the 2 by sepcifying a version on the Rexx call..

Hi Jan,
How ??
The problem is not only the ISPF libraries (they are easy)... it's the linklibs... which have to be allocated to DD=STEPLIB, and that can only be changed using a different logon procedure... (Yes there are robbery tools that can change it in flight , but I don't like them).
That was why ...
How would you do it, whithout chaning the SCSQAUTH and SCSQANLE allocation ? I've tried it some weeks ago (and can verify it again).
