Hi all,

for about two weeks now I'm trying to find the cause of the following issue.

I've got a sender QMGR on AIX :
Version: 6.0.2.8
CMVC level: p600-208-090930

I've got a receiving QMGR on Wintel :
Version: 6.0.2.2
CMVC level: p600-202-070801

I've got a channel setup to send persistant messages over this channel (messages indeed are persistant). As long as no SSL is confugured on this channel, it behaves as you would expect. After configuring SSL thing are starting to look very weird.

The channel does get a constant running state, but is had an indoubt status for most of the time. We use ITM to monitor and we have set the interval between snapshots to 1 minute. If we look like this the channel is in dount the whole time. In the meantime, we see that 1 to 4 messages are processed by the channel each minute. Because of this I've concluded that the channel must be able to resolve itself for a very short time a couple of times each minute. The returning channel does work as you would expect.

I've had the network config for both the AIX as the Wintel server checked, and I was garanteed all is oke. There is no firewall between both servers.

Has anyone seen behavior like this before ? Has anyone any idea where to look next ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Remco

any errors in the mq log of the receiving end? what are the retry settings of the receiving channel? if there is an error on the receiver and it is in retry, sender is still runing but may show indoubt.

That's the issue... Even the receiver channel is in a running state. And neither on the sender nor receiver part mq logging contains any errors.

retry settings on the receiver are :
retry count : 10
retry interval : 1000

Resolve the in doubt state as specified in the manuals.
This should see you getting normal throughput again.

A channel is INDOUBT for a short time in each batch.

I didn't understand your statement that it is both running and indoubt.
