The readme for MAK7 says:

4. The "servicename" file must remain unmodified in the install directory. Each time the service starts
it will read this file, so DO NOT change it.

5. To remove the service, run "remove" from the directory.

6. To create additional services, repeat the above steps. There is no built-in limit on the
number of services you can define.

But if the servicename file is modified to create additional services then it will not remain unmodified and the service initially created will no longer run successfully[/b]

I apologize for this post. Obviously for each service I need to create an installation directory etc.

Right, you do need to put the same files in more than one location to run independent copies of the MA7K service. You also probably want to modify the 'servicename' text file in each copy to have a unique value before running setup.

When looking at the new MA7K I saw this requirement. I missed it when I installed MA7K before. This is what I did.

1. from one install location create separate setup.ini for each environment. I have a single client box that connects to test/qa/prod
2. edit servicename file for test and run setup with my test setup.ini
3. edit servicename file for qa and run setup with my qa setup.ini
4. edit servicename file for prod and run setup with my prod setup.ini

I have had no issues with each instance of the trigger monitor starting and working as expected.

So my question is "is this acceptable?"

I realize that I must re-edit the servicename file if I want to run remove or setup if any parms change but I haven't encountered any errors with the three services by doing this - thus far!

Regards
