why are you here?
I've read many of your replies and you seem to think you are Yoda or something. People posting questions may need just a little direction other than "Go look it up. Have fun!" |

The go look it up there IS the direction. Once you have done that feel free to post questions about what remains unclear.
This is not a training site. We will teach you to help yourself. We won't do the work for you. _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Lets go have a pint of Ale. We'll all feel better afterwards.
As frustrating as I have been receiving those very responses, what I learned from figuring it out myself, I will likely not forget.
An example of this is the Route To Label exercise where the descension of the LocalEnvironment tree is not as obvious coding in Java as it is in ESQL. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

personally, i am not here to read the documentation for others. I am not here to answer questions that can be answered in seconds by having a look into manuals. i am not here to answer questions that have been answered many, many times before. i am not here to answer complex design questions to persons, that do not have a basic idea of the product and are only looking for a fast (and cheap?) solution that is otherwise designed and implemented by specialists that make their living of this consulting. i am not here to tell others to search on the internet (or here) first. i am not here to provide download links. i am not here to tell others the meaning of a returncode. i am not here to help those that treat me like a hotline.
Unfortunately, this happens more and more these days (or is this just my subjective impression?!?). People having less time / more preasure to get things done!? All must be cheap and fast?!?
However, i am here to share knowledge with those that are willing to share their knowledge too. I am here to learn and to give and get information. I am here to help those that already tried to help themselves. Sometimes i am here to read funny and sarcastic comments. And of course i am here to get help too when i need it. _________________ Regards, Butcher |

Mr Butcher, well said!
lancelotlinc, are you buying?
Vitor, keep taking the dried frog pills and it will all come back to you...
fjb, keep up the good work.
YAHOO_PETE, lighten up and put fjb_sapers answer in the same context as that of Mr Butcher's. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Call me cynical, but it seems that someone (or two) stumbled onto this site, gathered a few keywords and phrases, then posted... to see if anyone would reply. This is something like making random phone calls to see who will answer, and what they'll say. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

I'll buy the first two rounds. After that, someone else could kick in. Anyone on this thread attend Impact conferences? It's probably too late for this year to make plans (as my travel budget is for Mactan Island, Cebu, PI this year), but we could all decide to go to Impact 2012 and share some rounds there.
Ring ring; ring ring. Hello? Do you have Prince Albert in a can? Yeah. Well, let him out!! Ahahahahahaha. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

I think Mr Butcher says all. I learn when I do questions I also learn when answering them. Doing that for almost 9 years, and a lot of things to learn. |

There are some people who have a different perspective/attitude. One is Mrs. Bucket:
Ring ring; ring ring. "The boooo kaay residence, the lady of the house speaking. Whats that dear, Bruce is wearing your stockings? .... Its my sister Daisy, the one with the Mercedes in the garage." Violet is the one with the Mercedes in the garage, dear. Daisy is married to Onslo and has the old car that goes 'bang' every time it starts.
I didn't want our UK friends to think we Americans don't know our British comedies. You know how the Brits like to go all colonial on us whenever they have a chance. I try not to remind them who won the war, but sometimes they give me no choice.
I bet I'm going to regret posting this. |

Oh yes! I'd just like to point out that the American War of Independence was really the second English Civil War, but on a different continent. Admittedly there were some hangers-on involved, e.g. the French (awaiting fj's wrath), but mostly it was between the English colonists and English crown forces. We got to keep Canada though! _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

Yes, except for that bit where before hand one side said "We're not English any more".
And even then, the British Army, including the Marines, still couldn't stand up to a bunch of farmers. |

So why do the Amish refer to anyone non-Amish as "The English"? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

It was the worst insult they could think of.
