However, I wanted to to check with you guys. |
From the link you posted:

The path to the errors directory, like the paths to all the other directories in /var/mqm, is not modifiable. However the directories can be mounted on different file systems, or symbolically linked to different directories |
So you can't change the path, but you can store the FDC files anywhere you want.
I'd think very carefully before putting them on an NFS, in case the queue manager ever wants to throw a network-related FDC..... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Do you have a current issue with FDC files being produced and consuming a lot of disk space?
You should eliminate the generation of FDC files by addressing the underlying cause, rather than changing the path. In normal operation, MQ does not produce any FDC files. MQ does not do any housekeeping of FDC files, it just keeps creating and growing them indefinitely.
An alternative is to write a script that runs on a regular basis to move &/or archive the FDC files to another location. _________________ Glenn |

Yes, around 60k files are being generated each day.

Yes, that is right and I am working on that. But redirecting the FDC is by product of this issue. I already explained my manager that we can not change the path of FDC or path for any other files except for Log and Data. |
