Does the broker and the configuration manager have to be on the same machine? or can they be on different machines? If so what are the configuration changes which I need to make? Thanks.
Thanks. How does the configuration manager contact the broker? The control center contacts the configuration manager thru a client connection right? Is it a design decision that the broker and the configuration manager have to reside on different systems? I'm getting li'l confused on all of this. What do you recommend for anyone who wishes to configure MQSI? Thanks for all the input.
You can have your broker and config-mgr on the same machine (must be win2k/nt in this case) OR you can have them on separate machines (note: config-mgr must be on a win2k/nt machine)
For my company, we are having the broker on a mainframe machine since mainframe can handle more volumes of transactions compared to a win2k/nt machine.
To allow the config mgr and broker to communication, create a transmission queue with the same name as the broker and standard channels to/from your config mgr and broker.
