Have a customer who "may" have the requirement to have msgs over 100mb ( yes 100mb ... not what MQ was really designed for but.. ) being put through a queue manager.
The OS is OS390, MQSeries 5.1.
Target could be a mix of AIX / Solaris and even OS390 itself.
Has anyone had any experience with the above especially msgs over 100mb and what were they like ?
Any 3rd party tools out there that could possibly help, ie: compressing, segmentation..

Something I discovered when dealing with large segmented messages, if you are using persistence and syncpoint, you need to make sure the logs can handle the amount of data that is going to comprise a unit of work. We had several instances where we actually ran out of log space and the entire operation died because we exceeded the space allowed for a unit of work.
