I am using WMB 61 and a filenode to pick up file from a remote customer. The file arrival is very unpredictable. Sometime is one file every few hours or a few files evey few hours. We want to be able to stop the message flow when there is no more file to process (like no message available on a MQGET wait) and restart it a few hours later. I can use Timer node to start the flow every few hours. But I have no idea how to detect that there is no more file so that I can use automation to stop the flow.Any idea ?

It's kind of an odd request.

What value do you expect to receive from having the flow stopped for several hours?

I would use cron and a shell script.

As a general rule, you do not want to use WMB as a system management tool. The task you describe is a system management task, not a transform or route task.

Thanks for the responses. This is kind of expected answer after I found nothing on the file node description. I just want to confirm that I have not missed anythng (or anything new).

Why not just increase the scan interval to something like 15 minutes?
