I am currently reviewing MQ logs on various servers. I have been executing the following command on a HP-Unix box: rcdmqimg -m $QMGR -t all \* but it doesn't been to be updating my qmgr error logs.

I know for Windows you have to include a -l is there something similar for Unix.

I also realise that it takes a while for the error logs to be updated but how long is average - 5 minutes or 1 hour etc?

This command will not update your error logs, rather your linear logs ....

i.e. in /var/mqm/log/<qmgr name>/active/ or something similar....

The length of time the log takes for updates is a function of the number and size of persistent message on your queues .. which is obviously also going to be related to the disk array your using!
