Hi,
we are using MIM for file transfer and the scenario is like this.
The source application puts the message on the directory and it will be taken by MIM for transfer activities. The mimuser is having all the necessary pwermissions.( I checked manually too, like, move the file to other location using mimuser, etc..) . but , MIM is unable to pick up the file and throwing this error.
IT is not related to the file permissions, sicne, using mimuser, I am able to read the file/move the file., etc.. But, when the MIM application is trying to pick up, we get the following error.
the parent directory is owned by mimuser and the file is owned by some other user, but mimuser si the part of that group too..

What's MIM?
One typical cause in these kinds of cases, at least on Windows, is that there is a drive mount being accessed that is not visible from within the shell that is running the program trying to get at the file.
That is, that you for example created a drive mount while logged in as an interactive user and did not take steps to ensure this drive mount was visible from the service user that is running the background program. |

How many names is that poor product going to have?
Also sold as Tivoli Data Mover by IBM at one time, though I believe the name only appeared on a flash screen. The documentation which came with it called it PM4Data. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Finally, we resolved this issue.
We installed MIM earlier and started the same. After that, we changed the directory/file permissions and MIM was using cache memory for the file permissions and it was using the file permissions when MIM was started. So, even after changing the permissions, it didnt allow us to pickup the file.
Recycled the MIM instance and after that, all the files were picked up by MIM.
This solution was given by MIM helpdesk, after raising the L3 ticket.
Also, all the parent directories should have the write access to the mimuser/group to pickup the files.
Anyhow, the problem is resolved now. |
