We are installing MQ Series V7 on Windows Server 2008 service pack 2 (not R2). The available documentation describes how to set the domain accounts up for Windows Server 2000 and 2003 but as far as we can see these instructions to not apply to 2008. The issue is around the permission to read other users Group Permisssions on the domain. can anyone point us in the right direction please. In fact MQ server installed ok on one machine but when we tried to install the client only on aother machine in the same domain it failed.

A client only install doesnt need / use the domain id?

(Its used pre-7.1 for the dcom configuration, and post 7.1 for the service configuration - neither of which are used in a client only world).

Whats the problem you are seeing in a client only install?

Thanks and sorry. My mistake I inadvertenly installed the server and client and as you have pointed out we only needed client/explorer only.
