Bad display of unprintable characters

Pottas,

I have a doubt on this using X'0a' in the esql. I am using the code as such u have given

DECLARE Endchr CHAR CAST(CAST(X'0a' AS BLOB) AS CHAR CCSID 819);

Set OutputRoot.XML.DocTX.Eline=Endchr;

but the value is setting as . in the output message instead of carriage return.

please advise where i am missing.

You are missing a basic understanding of how different programs display non-printable characters.

In a new message flow? You should be using XMLNSC.

How do you see the output Message ? Do you write it to a file ? Or you see the output Message on the MQExplorer ? What shows you '.' ?
