We are having a problem with a vendor's software dropping not Putting the occasional MQ message, but not throwing an exception (Yes - just imagine the fun and hilarity which ensures). During the troubleshooting process with the vendor, they made this statement:
if you use the IBM WebSphere MQ 6.0 Client Libraries that come with IBM WebSphere MQ 7.0 (i.e. 7.0 delivers both 7.0 and 6.0 client libraries).
and then this:
I don't know what client libs you had before, but instead you should use the 6.0 libs that came with MQ 7.0 if you plan to use them for both 6.0 and 7.0 client access.
Backstory: we currently have the product connecting to both MQ v6 and MQv7 queue managers, but we have had the problem for over a year, when both queue managers were at v6. So MQ v7 doesn't didn't change the behavior.
I immediately rolled my eyes, because I have never heard of IBM delivering both the current AND previous client libraries in a version of MQ. Has anyone else? |

I've never heard of this. Ask them for specifics. Exactly where do they think the MQ 6 libraries are in an MQ 7 installation? _________________ Peter Potkay

They probably did an upgrade from V6 to V7 instead of a reinstall and did not upgrade the packages for the mq.client.rte ? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |
