Hi
I am trying to install IBM message broker 7.0 on my machine.
I am able to install all the components successfully except Message broker 7.0.0.1.
Every time I am trying to install, it is giving me the error as "JVM not Found"

P.S.: I have already tried reinstalling all the components but still it is not working.

Thanks in advance!

When I checked the logs in "mqsi7_install.txt", I found below mentioned error:

ProductException: (error code = 601; message="JVM not found")

I am new to WMB.Please, let me know how to get rid of this problem.

check the value of your JAVA_HOME environment variable. If you don't have java installed on the box set it to the value of the MQ JRE.

Have fun

How many components are there in Message Broker apart from Message Broker???

WMBv7.0.0.1 is unsupported. WMBv7.0.0.3 is the lowest version you should be using which is "known" to work, you shouldn't be using anything less than 7.0.0.6 in anger, 7.0.0.7 is available now and all versions of WMBv7 become unsupported in a little over a year.

By the word component, I mean:

-Websphere MQ v7.0.1
--Websphere Message Broker V 7.0.0.1 (For which I am getting this error)
-Websphere MB ToolKit
-WMB Explorer

And you're trying to install all of this on Windows XP or some other *supported* OS for that horribly obsolete set of software?

If you're, for example, trying to install it on Windows 8... Best Of Luck!

Windows XP only.

These set of software are actually project specific!

So can't change the version!

Do some research. If memory serves you were required to use some kind of additional parameter like /... at this level.
Also make sure java is on your path:
java -version
gives you a non error response.

Have fun

So you're installing nearly obsolete WMB on obsolete OS

Congratulate your project. By picking 7.0.0.1 they've managed to become unsupported on WMBv7 a year ahead of the rest of the world.

How have they selected 7.0.0.1? Where there features in later versions they wanted to avoid in case they were useful? Fixes in later releases that were a risk to platform stability by improving it?

I'm interested in the decision making process here.

Rather than solving my issue, ppl are quite busy in picking out the mistake in installed software!
If you cant tell the solution, just dont post anything.

The forum is for resolving the issue not to point anything immaterial.

amar20, the tone of your post won't make the solution to your problem come any quicker.

What are you doing trying to solve it for yourself or are you just waiting for a solution to be delivered to you?
We really like people to try things for themselves. That way they learn a lot more.

for example, are you sure that the 7.0.0.1 kit you are using is actually a fully release (i.e. remastered) and not just a fixpack? If it is a fixpack then you will need to install 7.0.0.0 first.

Sorry for the tone.

I tried following things to resolve this issue:

1) I reinstalled my JDK (Problem remains the same)
2) Changes the JAVA_HOME as suggested by fjb_saper.(Problem remains the same)
3) Tried reinstalling all the components again.(Problem remains the same)

Some of my expertise friend told me to reinstall MQ again. And also to install fixpack, if any. I didn't rrun fix pack earlier as it was not given in the swInstallation doc.

I ran the fix pack and boom!

Its working now

Anyways! Thanks for contributing your time in my silly issue.

As, I am new to this tool, hope to in touch with you all guys for a long time.
