Hi,
We have following scenarios:
1. Reading files from multiple directories in an FTP.
2. Retaining the file in the FTP after reading (FileInput node deletes the files after reading).
3. Unzipping functionality . E.g. The image server file is stored in a zip file in the FTP and we will need to unzip it before parsing the file.
4. Converting one file format to another. E.g. Converting excel spread sheet to an .xml or a .csv file.
5. Reading files from dynamically named folders where pattern matching on the folder name is not possible ( e.g. Naming folders based on identifiers) and the folders can change over time (e.g. addition of new folders with new identities and deletion of some folders).
6. Selectively picking up files that may require intelligent filtering rather than mere pattern matching (In case we pickup only a set of files and not all of them, or pick up files that are within a specific timestamp range or picking up files based on last modified date attribute)
Please help me in understanding in which all scenarios FTE can be used with FTEInout node and in which all we need some other app(may be a java code)
He's referring to the FTE node - so this is WMB related.
Fileinput nodes can archive the files, but MQ and WMB are designed to be transactional and therefore the risk of reading the same file twice needs to be removed, hence they are archived or deleted.
The FTEinput node has an option of no action after processing a file, which presumably is possible as this node uses the notification from FTE to decide what files to process.
