I am interested in using the new MQ 7.0 Pub/Sub features from perl.

I am looking for any examples of how to publish a message to a fixed topic using the MQSeries 1.31 or 1.32 perl module.

Any help would be appreciated.

It doesn't look like the perl module provides an MQSUB API call yet. So you can't create a managed subscriber.

Otherwise, it should be the same as writing any other pub/sub application. There are several clear examples in the Pub/Sub user's guide in the InfoCenter. It would be straightforward for a competent programmer to map these into plain MQAPI perl code, and likely only require a bit of consideration to turn it into perl OO code.

If you really need direct examples, best bet is to contact the team maintaining this supportPac and request assistance.

You can still do pub/sub using topic aliases.

You can still do pub/sub without topic aliases and without MQSub. You just have to create a subscription manually rather than programatiicaly.
