Good morning,

I am using IBM WebSphere MQ Explorer, version 7.5.0.2, on MS Windows. I want to share master settings of connections to our 21 Queue Managers and similar number of Brokers in MQ Explorer among our team. While it is easy and sufficient for us for Queue Managers using "Export or Import MQ Explorer Settings" context menu of "IBM WebSphere MQ" root node, I am not able to do the same for "Brokers".

It looks like that this information is not included in XML file used for export and import of settings. I guess, that "Brokers" setting is contained in XML file on the path "%userdir%\IBM\WebSphereMQ\workspace\.metadata\.plugins\com.ibm.etools.wmadmin.broker.explorer\MB_EMFModel.xmi". But I do not want to distribute any settings using "Let copy this to somewhere deep inside of Your MS Windows user profile".

What I missed ~ did wrong? Or setting of "Brokers" are not covered by export / import setting functionality? Than it would be pitty...

Thank You in advance for answer. Stepan

How many brokers are you talking about?
Have you tried exporting each broker into it's .broker file and then defining the broker using the .broker file on the other host?

Code:

...About +- 20 brokers divided into development, testing and production environment.

...Yes, of course. This is the way how I defined each broker connection. But then I have to import each broker using mouse click + click into MQ Explorer.

The frustrating thing is the fact, that the new connection of broker is created with autoreconnect = "true", so one need to stop (using red circle in progress window) just starting connection after importing *.broker definition XML file, mouse switching autoreconnect = "false". Because in case of more than few connected brokers MQ Explorer is going to be very slow. So that is also why I want and need to include broker definitions in MQ Explorer Settings export/import - to have all definitions and each with autoreconnect = "false".

Definitely I do not see any reason why not to include Broker definitions in export and import of MQ Explorer Settings. Moreover in case, that export and import has ability to select areas of setting to be exported and imported already in version 7.5.0.2 and maybe lower ones.
