Hi,
I am presently using WMB 7.0 . I am trying to use the Retry mechanism = 'Short and Long retry' functionality of the SOAPInput node for retrying the SOAP Message received on this node, but the functionality is not working in the provider flow.
On the SOAP Input node, I have configured:
Retry mechanism = Short and Long retry
Retry threshold = 2
Short retry interval =5
Long retry interval = 10
1) Request to clarify if this functionality works for only a specific type of exception condition or it works for any of the exceptions originated in the downstream connected path of the main flow, when those exceptions are rolled back to the soap input node and none of the failure and catch terminals are connected ?
2) Secondly, will this functionality 'Short and Long retry' be enabled only if Catch terminal of the SOAPInput node is not connected, or it will work even if catch terminal is connected.
3) Presently i am trying to test this functionality by using the WMB sample provider flow and consumer flow and tweaking them for this capability by throwing a user exception (in another test instead of throwing a user exception, i tried generating a database exception, by inserting into a non existing table) in the provider flow, just before sending the reply back to the consumer.
Further, I tried using user trace, trace node as well as debugger, one at a time in independent tests, none of them is showing the message as being retried. So kindly advice
a) whehter the above scenario will enable the input message to be retried or not?
b) Is the category of exceptions tried applicable for retry or not?
c) Will debugger and user trace not show the retried message ?
4) The default value is coded as 0 for either short retry or long retry, what is the exact behaviour being shown by the soap input node. Does it imply that it will retry constantly till the max client wait time value specified ?
Kindly request you to please advice and clarify the doubts.
Thanks,
