I am wondering if this esql statement makes sense

SET myVar =INPUTROOT.BUFFER;
SET OutputRoot.XML.Data []=PASSTHRU(myVar);

Basically , I want to just substitute the message data(buffer) I pass in the MQPUT call for the sql statement.

What do you mean by InputRoot.BUFFER here?

Once you have input SQL query message formatted into text format, you can use PASSTHRU function to execute it and get the results back.
